When Energy Starts Coming Back: A Real-Life March Reset

Somewhere between the endless gray of winter and the first real hint of spring, something starts to shift.

For me, it usually happens during a morning drive to work. The sun is suddenly there — not fully awake yet, but peeking through the trees just enough to remind you that winter doesn’t get the final say.

After months of darkness, exhaustion, and trying to keep momentum through the holidays, January, and the slow crawl of February… that little bit of morning sunlight feels like a reset button.

Even the evenings start changing. Getting home from work and realizing the sun is still hanging around for a little while longer makes the day feel different. It’s like you suddenly get part of your life back.

The heavy, endlessly tired feeling that winter tends to bring starts to lift.

And after spending the last couple months focusing on recovery, rest, and a whole-body reset, it finally starts to feel like it was worth it.

March Is When Energy Returns — But Gently

March is a funny month.

Your body isn’t fully in spring mode yet, but you can feel it waking up. The anticipation of warmer weather, longer days, and not needing to bundle up just to step outside brings a kind of quiet motivation that January could never force.

This is why March is actually a much better time to reconnect with goals.

Not the “new year, new you” pressure that shows up on January 1st.

But real goals.
The kind that come from feeling like yourself again.

By March, you’ve had time to:

  • Recover from the holidays

  • Move through winter fatigue

  • Reset your nervous system

  • Give your body some grace

Now there’s a little more space for forward movement.

Not rushing.
Not forcing.

Just beginning again — naturally.

A Tiny March Yoga Reset (5–10 Minutes)

As energy returns, gentle activation helps the body transition out of winter mode.

Two simple poses can help wake things up without overwhelming your system.

Standing Side Stretch (Parsva Tadasana)

Reach both arms overhead and gently lean side to side.

This movement opens the ribs and lungs, encourages deeper breathing, and creates a feeling of space in the body — something we tend to lose during long winter months.

Move slowly and let the stretch feel refreshing, not forced.

 Chair Pose (Utkatasana)

Stand with feet hip-width apart and bend the knees as if sitting back into a chair. Reach the arms forward or overhead.

Chair Pose gently builds strength, warms the body, and helps reconnect to your center as energy begins to rise again.

Hold for a few breaths, then release.

Think of it less as a challenge and more as a reminder that your strength has been there all along.

A Fun Meditation to Try: The “Sun Pause”

This one doesn’t require sitting still, lighting candles, or carving out special time.

When you notice sunlight — through a window, in the car, outside your door — pause for 30 seconds.

Turn your face toward the warmth.
Close your eyes if it feels comfortable.
Take one slow breath.

That’s it.

Let the light hit your face and simply notice it.

This tiny pause helps your nervous system register safety, warmth, and seasonal change — something our bodies are wired to respond to.

Think of it as a micro-celebration of surviving winter.

 A March Reminder

March isn’t about proving anything.

It’s about recognizing that you made it through the darkest part of the year.

Energy returning isn’t something you have to chase — it’s something your body naturally remembers when the light comes back.

So if things feel a little easier right now, a little brighter, a little more hopeful…

That’s not coincidence.

That’s your system doing exactly what it was designed to do.

And if you want support, guidance, or a steady way forward as the seasons shift, I’m here.

Let’s get Unfukked — together.
